Christmas In The Park
Christmas in the Park is considered by many Dixie County residents to be the embodiment of the Christmas Spirit. The Dixie County Chamber of Commerce brings this festive day to the Cross City Park every year near the middle of December. Christmas in the Park opens with a parade through town, ending at the Cross City Park. The Dixie County Fire Council provides free fire truck rides for all children. Continuous entertainment is provided. The Matthew Express has miniature train rides for all children. Hot dogs and drinks are available for everyone. All children are given gift bags full of gifts. Each year 1000 hot dogs are eaten, 500 gift bags are given to children, and there is plentiful entertainment for all. And best of all, it is free to all attendees. All expenses are underwritten by local business and individual sponsors, and by the Dixie County Chamber of Commerce.
